West Kallada Floating Solar Project
Location: West Kallada, Kollam district, Kerala
Capacity: 50 MW (AC), 65 MWp (DC)
The West Kallada 50 MW Floating Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Power Project is a grid-connected renewable energy installation developed over waterlogged land in Kollam district, Kerala. The project has an installed AC capacity of 50 MW and DC capacity of 65 MWp. It utilizes floating pontoon-based solar technology supported by High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) flotation systems. The plant is designed to generate approximately 99.909 million units of electricity annually in the first year with a projected Capacity Utilization Factor (CUF) of 22.79%. Power is evacuated through a 110 kV switchyard and supplied to the Kerala State grid under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) at ₹3.04/kWh.
